Back in 2020 we were bombarded with choices – major ones in lock-down where alternatives were stark. We and our leaders made decisions which affected ourselves and impacted upon others.
These are major major things and anything on this website seems somehow irrelevent in comparison.
The key factor in that turnaround has been the advent of the Gutenberg page editor system. An equivalent to this was used by us for developments in Drupal 8 for a couple of sites to similar visual effect but the ease of use of the new WP editor has really allowed for more freedom for the customer to design their own interesting page layouts whilst still remaining within the site design and the required level of accessibility.
We are hoping that new sites will be built using the WordPress setup – and in common with Drupal it will mean that they are industry-standard in terms of support and structure.
When planning a website you as a customer need to make choices. On images that explain what you do. Do you go for you own photography – or for royalty-free of paid imagery. Typefaces – a minefield in itself. Or if you are an established business with its own logo and “look” then how do you transfer this to a website – or revamp the one you have.
